Originally from the Netherlands, I learned how to trap and train birds from my father. I immigrated to Canada in 1967 and worked for 30 years as a park superintendant, where I honed my bird catching skills as a CWS licenced bird bander and falconer. I also have a OMNR trappers licence.

My background includes a degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Guelph. I have banded birds with Martin since 1987 and now assist him with the day to day management of the company, while working as a secondary school science teacher.
